ENGINEERING THE JUGAAD

The word jugaad typifies the essence of jugaad. Jugaad is a phrase used for a resourceful person - for a quick fix or a work around engineered to compensate for a lack of resources (both tangible and intangible).

Jugaad in its third sense is both an art and science. It conclusively puts an end to the engineering-management debate by effectively validating that they are one and the same thing. A jugaad may not necessarily fix the problem. But it does provide an alternative method to avail it - a technique that is often used as a temporary solution to a software bug.

our college embraces this concept with a lot of spirit. College events and fests are filled with numerous instances of how an ingenous jugaad saved the day. consider the possibility (or rather the certainity) of database of your software getting connection fright a few hours before an event. They obviously didn't teach you to fix that. The only available solution is to well, jugaad another one to replace the rummy traitor.

There is no limit to what and how one can jugaad things during the course of engineering - once you get the hang of it, it sticks with you. Final year projects, seminar slides, guest speakers at an event, library cards, flash drives, fake identities, assignment sheets, certificates, notes, money for flawless spending in canteen --- they are just the tip of the iceberg.

Engineers are often thought to be cranky figures poring over large intricate blueprints, planning meticulously for hours together. Of course actual engineering students with a real engineering degree would find the very idea of blueprints and flow diagram quite laughable, atleast back home in the land of jugaad. As opposed to the ingenuity and quick thinking that an efficacious jugaad demands, plans and designs sap the punch from a problem. Why bother wasting those extra hours on designing when a quick solution jugaad is not only adequate but also has the added advantage of saving extra time for fun and celebrating.

Jugaad versus the actual thing is like a fight between Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. While Bruce Lee uses technique with a finesse that is delightfully fluid, Jackie Chan's style is more on-the-spot, more creative, more jugaad-ish. No one can say with certainty who the winner would be in such a event, but in a bare empty room Chan would probably feel a little lost..

Journey of my comp life!!

I still remember the day when my dad brought a desktop for me when I was in class 8th .That day the shopkeeper came in his own car to deliver the computer at my home. This was because buying a computer at that time was very rare shopping for a person. One of the best configuration at that time Pentium III, 128 MB Ram,40 GB hard disk, white CRT monitor with a HP inkjet printer for 38 K.

Unfortunately for me it was like not knowing how to ride a bicycle and given a motorcycle to ride. Really at that time i was not knowing how to shut down a computer. After installation i asked that computer guy to install games.....my next question was uncle “ye computer band kaise karte h”. He smiled and then told me how to shutdown a PC.

Though in Bishop Conrad School we were taught language “LOGO” and “BASIC” in class 8th but i was having NIL knowledge in basic knowledge of computer because we were given a already started computer with the console of language and we were not allowed to open anything else in school.

So now it was the time to explore what i was not allowed in school. But a child in class 8th was much fascinated by playing games rather than anything else.I with my school friends (Pushkar, Siddhant,Qasim...) used to play the only game “DAMORASH” orderly and it was the daily scenario before and after coaching.

Slowly and steady i gained interest in computer field and i took computer science as subject in class 11th and 12th. This interest continued as i took admission in B.TECH in computer science branch, after 12th in SRMSCET. And now i am placed in India No. 1 and world’s No. 5 software company TCS as a software engineer.

I never knewed that incident in class 8th would change my life. Thanks to my dad and thanks to my 9 years old P–III computer which is still functioning well. Though my dad gifted me a new LENOVO laptop recently after being placed in TCS, that desktop will always be my best gift i ever had in my life.

It’s the time:

Gone are those days !!

Gone are those days with my first laughter of day with my friends,

Gone are those days with my first attendance in head office with my friends,

Gone are those days to show my talent of haramipana,

Gone are those days to tease a friend by a girl name,

Gone are those days to get teased too by friends.

Gone are those days with swollen feeling of grand GPL on birthdays,

Gone are those days of making plan of bunking classes,

Gone are those days of treats without valid reason every week,

Gone are those days of being poorest while entering canteen,

Gone are those days of trying a chance on every beautiful girl,

Gone are those days of using familiar words ‘bhabhi aa rahi h’ ,

Gone are those days of showering rain of comments on our targets,

Gone are those days of masti , rattle and hums.

Friends really missing those days

MATRIX IN ME

"The matix has you", This line on the NEO computer.....what does it means? Have you ever thought.?????? Every one lives two lifes. One of these life has future and other doesn't have it. You have the look of the man who accept what he sees bcoz he is expected to wake up.What a person is,you cannot explain but you can feel it.

Do you know what i am talking about??? Do you wanna know what it is???

Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even within you. Matrix is the the world which is pulled around your eyes to make you blind away from truth. Matrix is the faceoff for your mind. Unfortunately no one can be told what exactly matrix is, you have to see it for yourself.

What is real??? How do you define real??? Are you talking about what you see in anyone is real??? Real is interpreted signals by your brain what you see by your naked eyes. You are made to percept what one wants to.

  • If I have the image of a bad boy, is it real? Am I not having features of good boy ?
  • If I donot study in lectures, is it real? Am I not willing to or I never study ?
  • If I look forward to every beautiful girl, Am I not trustable by my future life partner ?
  • If I comment on everyone, Am I not decent in real?
  • If I bunk classes, Am I not punctual ?
  • If I am lafangey parindey type, will i never be social ?
  • If I am freaky, Will I never be professional ?
  • If I sometimes donot show gratitude to elders, Do I not respect them ?

Answer to each of above question is N & O , "NO". This perception what you have for me is fake. You see what i want you to see in me. You feel what I wanna make you feel about me. You percept what I wanna make you percept about me. I don’t care if my image is good or bad. My friends enjoy with me and others who do not f**k off.

I believe that One should always enjoy his present days without trying to become what is not required today. Ex:- If you are decent and punctual in your college life, you have not enjoyed your college life. Those humans are F**king shits. And I hate them. Something suits you when it is needed and not doing the same prematurely.

I just wanna say that a person is always unexpected. So dude never believe on what you see , but try to see the matrix in a person. A person can be different from the way you see him.

Last question:

If I have used some vulgar words in my post, Am i very vulgar???

NO, this is what i want you to percept about me !!!! You are still in my matrix dear... !!!

MATRIX continues...

MY INTERVIEW DAY AT CALL CENTRE

Tring... tring... tring...tring

These are the words which echo into my ears 24*7, from the 1st day at “BIZ CENTRIC INTERNATIONAL”. I remember the day with my CV in my hand & my mouth desperate to speak up, at the gate of Biz Centric International. I asked the boy outside the gate named “CHOTU”, the way to the interview room. The way he directed me gave me the sign that he has also been trained at Biz for a emergency telephony.

I entered the interviewer room & was not at all nervous as i am never while speaking.Entering the room three persons sitting introduced themselves as Alex, Willy & Jazz.

But jazz jazz jazz, I was astonished seeing Jazz. It was as a flash back to school life, same face, same height, same attitude. He was “Jasdeep Sandhu” my school mate from class 3rd to 10th. Whola I knewed him very well. He too recognized me and we hugged each other. The next question which came from my mouth was how come Jasdeep to Jazz???? There i came to know the professionalism at BPO’s . the pseudo names Jazz is APM manager at Biz centric.

Now it was the turn for formal interview to my old school friend Jasdeep oh ! oh ! Jazz, after a emotional scene. They were quiete impressed by my communication skill which is must neccessity in BPO’s. They offered me what i went for, from the day itself & was called for US night shift 10 p.m to 6 a.m.

That day i felt cheers and happiness bcoz my old school friend is at an authorative position to interview me.

“WO KEHTE HAIN NA KI BURE SAMAY ME GADHE (DOSTON) KO BHI BAAP BANANA PADTA HAIN ”

......HA HA HA...continue
