The Corporate , Professionals & their Work Culture !!

Experience of 4 years in IT Indian industry has made me come across many types of working professionals here. If I broadly describe , then below are the categories :

1.   Workoholic’s with Non-Productivity : One who is highly career over energized and is ready to do anything . How long, how much hectic , in his reach?...these things doesn’t matter to them. They will always accept the work & sit 24*7 to finish their work slowly and steady. But the work they do takes more than average time. These people are hardworkers but non-productive. But higly visible in leads eyes and mostly recognized.

2.   Workaholic’c and Productive : These are the guys who are serious about their work when they work. These are real talents. They will do more amount of work with minimum time. They will give the feel of workaholic during their working time but they will leave office on time. Best candidates for onsite opputunities but sometime not properly recognized.

3.     Casual doer’s : These guys knows the truth of industry that working or not , they are not going to get the benefit as expected so better not to work hardly and enjoy their life. They just go office to get their monthy salary. These guys might be intelligent but not ready to work.

4.   Dumb Professionals : Seriously doubt on companies selection criteria after seeing them in same office where you are. These are the ones who needs more hard work of team in providing transitions to them, than what they give in return to team. Highly inefficient and waste of company money.

Also there is a another way to categorize them depending on the orientation to their interest. Depending on what they (excluding dumbs here) are working for. What’s the thing which motivates them to work with efficiency. Below are another classification how professional achieve their work satisfactions:

1. Learners – They want to learn more and more and more. New technology motivates them and bring their interest in work. But these are the one who will switch companies very early once getting good opportunities.

2. Money satisfaction – One who works to get a significant increment in salary. Mind it, these folks are best to trust on. But they won’t work for free.

3. Passionate to go onsite – From the day they joined company, their aim is to get onsite. What they need to do doesn’t matter. Give them onsite and see their outputs. They will out-mind you with their performance.

4. Unnamed – I can’t give any name to these guys as no one can say what they want. They don’t work for money, they don’t want onsite but they work like anything even if there is nothing to learn much.

Above classifications obviously open an arena of arguments to decide what should be the correct way to get self satisfied and make company also satisfied. But someone said correctly as below:

There is a notable distinction between being busy and being productive. Being busy doesn’t necessarily means that you’re productive.”

A person who sits in office till late is not a hardworking person, but he/she is a fool who doesn't know how to finish work in simulated time. Beside he is a loser in life who doesn't have personal or social life. Many career professionals, raised in the era of information and communication overload, have the false idea that staying at work for longer hours will make you more productive.

But here is the catch “Am I damaging my reputation by arriving and leaving on-time?” .This is the doubt many have. But sorry guys this is unanswerable query. As your team , your lead are the ones who are deciding this. Few may be happy but others may be worried. But thing is, this has to be rebelled or else you are going to me made a machine who is working without his will, just to impress his leads. Leads have to understand and they need to focus on productivity rather than number of hours spent in office.

I believe life does not mean coming to office, going home and sleeping, there is more to a life. You need a time to socialize, entertainment, exercise and relaxation. Don’t make your life meaningless.

Most of the countries limit the legal amount of time you are supposed to work. in France it's 35, in others it's 40, etc. But this is a major cultural problem we have in modern society here in India. Here we don’t have limit…9,10,11,12… and even more hours is normal for many Indian software engineers. That’s the reason MNC’s are able to generate revenues specially in IT here,  as outsourcing from India is highly encouraged by other companies due to cheap and best reason.

Let’s Join hands together for a change. If not for yourself atleast for
others who believe in my above thoughts !!

Lenovo K900 - For Those Who Do !!

Sexy…Damn sexy… Isn’t it ??

What else can you say about above pic. I bet you will also say the same, Sexy..damn sexy on first impression.

It was 17th December 2013 , when I ordered my Lenovo K900 mobile after a long wait of some 4-5 months of desire to buy this gadget & got in hand on 23rd Dec. Writing a post so late about the same because I wanted to use it inhand and experience before giving any comment.

Now here is what I can say about this phone Oozes class !! This phone is absolutely stunning. Everything looks and feels absolutely premium. I saw so many reviews with pros and cons but I was quite blinded by the pros and bought it finally.

The best thing which I liked and which turned down my mind of stopping myself getting attracted to this gadget are below:

1 . First and foremost It’s stainless steal metallic back body...totally stunning and extreme premium feature of this phone. It’s definitely the best phone one would wish to hold in hand.

2 . Secondly , Phone body curves, sharp corner edges , one of the thinnest and so light weight (lightest among big screen mobiles) like nothing in hand.

3. Superb screen, best result under sun and sharp crisp clear 1920 x 1080 Full HD 5.5” display

4. Amazing responsiveness…Don’t know what Lenovo has put in that, but this phone hever hung up badly as is found in Samsung, HTC and LG android phones. The processor is super fast and it is extremely responsive on all applications. It handles Multi-tasking with out any hiccups. Touch response is super awesome and super sensitive since you can use your nails too for navigation. No phone in the market has this feature. Stylus/Pen can also be used on this device.

After nearby 4 months of usage I can't notice any visible cons except for the mild heating that can be felt during usage due to the metal body.

Common guys its not a big deal, it cost just 24k for 32 GB model. The phone is an amazing package at an astonishing price. Eventhough we need to compromise android version (Jelly Bean only) and brand, but this much sexy and properly finished light weight premium look no one offers. This is really Lenovo flagship model for their mobile market future. Terrific specs and attention to detail has evoked jealous gasps from iphone and other android users consistently. Go for it without a thought. It is backed by a fabulous intel processor, decent battery life (@2500 Mah its not at all that great..but lasts for an entire day) and above all a phone from a lenovo that makes you notice and say that they are serious about quality. I would buy it again without a thought.

Key Spcecifications :

The Power of surprise --
It does has more effects than conventional way of doing things !!

I personally believe surprise is better than promises. Let life surprise you and you become life to surprise others. I don’t know where I’m going from here but I promise it won’t be boring. When Kiddo says that Jaan you surprised me, I just say Life is full of surprises kiddo and I can surprise you much more better in future than what I did till now.

“The secret to humor is surprise.” ― Aristotle

Surprise has the ability to make every experience much better. In fact surprise can amplify whatever emotion you are experiencing. Yeah exactly the way in above picture. Surprise is one of our most powerful relationship tool. Surprise can make your experience to stand out of the conventional way. The only thing that should surprise us is that there are still some things that can surprise us.

There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved.” ― Charles Morgan

It shouldn’t surprise you that 99% of people get delighted by surprises. To surprise our dear ones, we must look for opportunities. Time will give us hints, but we need to recognize these hints as opportunities.

Few oppurtunities I too got to surprise my dear ones. Best 3 in order of most recent ones are below :

1. Kiddo 23rd b’day party – Hell of surprise with party poppers, cake , few friends , at kiddo favourite Chatarpatar venue, very amazing gifts (Tooth brush ,Eldo’s Reynolds razor gel pen , pencil, rubber, cutter, scale, chino ,black top) and JP’s chocolates. What more to give kiddo when I am struggling with my bank balance. But surprise not yet over baby :D

2. Singh family first car , gifted by me to my pitashri -  This was diwali special gift to my dad. He deserved atleast that much from my side for bringing me to this position in life. My career my life dedicated to them. Wanted to live for them first. For myself I can live later yaar. Life not over yet.   Took my family for Pizza dinner as told to them by me. After reaching Maruti agency and giving  the car keys in their hand they came to know what Pizza meant that day. And yes this is most expensive surprise of my life. Hahaha.

3. Mom dad silver jubilee anniversary of marriage – How mummy papa felt when they saw 30 closed relatives in an high class party hall of a restaurant who were called formally with proper invitation card. Where DJ was on the floor with all uncle aunties ready to rock, party poppers along with big sized cake and marriage Jaymala, also superb dinner with deserts. Indeed they remembered 25 years back their day of marriage. All thanks to me and my bank balance :D Please note my parents came to know about this arrangements once I took them to party hall. Before that all planning was done by me and my bhai..Ankur bhai !!

Doing all those things made me more happy than anything else in this world. Still I Cherish those moments when I remember it.

The next time you are presented with an opportunity to surprise someone, say yes. I can bet they will remember the experience forever. Think of the last time you received surprise.
Cheers !! Live a surprising life surprisingly with a surprise for others too.

Associanizations in Kerala !!

Associanization yeah Associanization...not a real word but very much apt for Kerala. State/City/Town/District/Colony people make associations for some unkown benefits or unity but in Kerala people make associations just to make their presence everywhere. They have not left any stone unturned to be associanized. If a limit is there it’s obviously not here :D

Let me speak frankly. Narrowminded people who are more interested in other people life matters, who always peep into other happenings before their own , who are still not comfortable seeing a boy with a girl in public , who are still living in their old age with their so called mallu civilizations thinking. These are the only people where people are inclined towards communism and they believe in community to fight against government , to fight against people , to fight against any other hindrance and to make their profit.

Associations where required is understandable, but a limit is there to everything. I can jot down many associations which even you will feel are irrelevant. Even those member in that associations might be irritated of this but they are helpless because this is tradition in Kerala. I don’t know the real source who started this, whether it was initiation of active communists of Kerala or some other. But anyhow this is what prevails in this so called God’s own country land.

Let’s start our journey and go through few associations of kerala. You decide if all these below ones are valid ones :

Kerala State Barber and Beauticians Association – Don’t know for what it has been made. Might be to fix rate of hair cut as 60 INR. WTF…!!! Same reaction you have right..Yes WTF...this is cheapest rate of hair cut here where as in other states of India its just 30-35 INR. The smallest shop under tree will have same rate as one normal shop. Though big parlours and all have their rate as 200+ INR only. Not sure why don’t they add them also in their association and fix same rate too.

Private Bus/KSRTC Bus/Auto Association – Mind it these 3 are independent associations and not together. They are like competitors to each other to do maximum number of strikes in Kerala for every reason possible. I have faced so many strikes in just 3 year of Kerala living. Before kerala in first 22 years of my life I was not lucky to see strikes frequently. All thanks to them !!

Lottery Association – As lottery is legal in Kerala and so their association.

Coconut Climbers Association – Here comes the comedy. Coconut water price where coconut trees are in surplous is INR 30 same as in north india where no coconut trees can be found. All thanks to this association. Their rate of climbing coconut trees is as high as sky in Kerala. Doesn’t matter to them..Association is a must !!

Construction Labour / Carpenter / Plumber Associations – These all have their associations separately. After all they need to fight for their rights. And believe me these people are more rich than normal white collar office going guys as their labour charge is very high. Also you will have to take appointment from them. Not easy to get them here.

Driving school AssociationHey this association is needed only , how will they loot money from people. Afterall they need to teach them driving , do their paper works, get them legal driving licence illegally. For that only they have opened driving school.

Fisherman AssociationSeashores everywhere in God’s own country and are so fishes everywhere. High rates for fish doesn’t matter even though Kerala is seashore. Please don’t travel from any part of india to Kerala just to have good fish for cheap. I can bet you can get the same in your state for same rate. No words for this association.

Agriculture Association – Agreed that this board is required everywhere so one of the valid association. Though Kerala is very less producer of main grain (Wheat/Rice/Pulses), they import mostly from other states only.

Rubber & Spice Boards– Being one of the largest producer of rubber and spices in india , I can say these boards of Kerala should be there to manage production and export.

Many more associations are there in Kerala which I have not mentioned above. Concluding this post I want to say that these many associations , Uffffff……….Is it making a better world in Kerala or their own mean world for particular group of people. I am not suitable enough to comment on this. You guys decide !!
